APOKALUPSIS | 003 | The Time is at Hand

Image
Time is the most important resource on planet earth. Everything that exists on its surface has a beginning and an end. The wise king Solomon says, "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the sun." (Ecclesiastes 3:1) God's prophecies are made up of three notable features: An event The time of the event The purpose of the event The book of Revelation was given to Jesus by His Father "...to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass..." (Revelation 1:1) Everything God does in the book of Revelation is for this one reason - to "...save his people from their sins." (Matthew 1:21) Every event, every admonition, every exhortation is to fulfill this grand purpose. Said the apostle Paul: "And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness,

APOKALUPSIS | 002 | What is the Testimony of Jesus Christ?

Image
In Our Christian experience, many of us have testified of God's working in our lives and the lives of others. It is interesting to note that Jesus Christ also has a testimony to tell. John bore record of "... the word of God, and the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all the things that he saw." (Revelation 1:2) The Scriptures testify of Jesus Christ. (John 5:39) In the pages of the Bible, Jesus, who is the Word of God (John 1:1-4, 14), gives the testimony of how He saves the world through God's mercy and justice. In Revelation 19:10, John's guiding angel tells John, "... I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." The angel repeats this the a similar statement in Revelation 21:9, "I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God." Let's do a comparative analysis of the t

APOKALUPSIS | 001 | The Book of Revelation

Image
Hundreds of years ago, on a rocky island off the coast of Turkey, ink and pen touched on paper as the hand of an old veteran of the gospel wrote down one of the most astonishing narratives of all time - "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John." (Revelation 1:1) The book is not sealed or secretive for the Greek word "apokalupsis" means  disclosure or to reveal . To the earnest seeker of the truth the promise is given, "...seek and ye shall find..." (Luke 11:9) When you come to God with sincerity of heart, desiring to know the truth of His Word, God says, " Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." (Jeremiah 33:3) God, the Father of Jesus Christ was the originator of this book and " gave it unto Jesus, to show unto his servants things whic

Light in the Darkness

Image
Light is one of the most essential and vital elements for life. Darkness is the absence of light and whether we like it or not, a life in total darkness, whether physical, mental, or spiritual is not a good one. We need light! During the closing scenes of earth's history, which I believe we're in right now, the darkness in the world increases in intensity. "Behold darkness is upon the earth, and gross darkness the people..." (Isaiah 60:2) For this reason, many are condemned because "...light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved." (John 3:19-20) What is this light that Jesus was talking about? I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (John 8:12) To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it

It's 03:00am

In the Hebrew culture, the twelve hours of the night, beginning at 6pm, is divided into four parts - the first, second, third, and fourth watch. The fourth watch, therefore, begins at 3am and ends at 6am. This important period of the night contains two events: The darkest part of the night is just before dawn. This proverb was first published in print in the year 1650 by a theologian and historian, Thomas Fuller.  The breaking of the day at dawn. On the night of his anguish at Peniel, Jacob went through a great time of trouble in which he wrestled with God "...until the breaking of the day..." (Genesis 32:24). We are living in the closing scenes of this world's history. Through the mouth of Isaiah the prophet, God says, "For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people..." (Isaiah 60:2). The darkness stated here is gross (thick) which covers the people. Nevertheless, during this time of thick and gross darkness, God calls on a peo
